What is best way to connect a shielded wire (shielded part)? Can I use a regular Molex connector and just treat the shield like one of the other wires? Is there a better way? I need to connect shielded wiring from my position LED lights at the wing roots.

Works just fine, that's what I did in my HR-II and RV-9A.

Is shielding necessary for LED lights? I have two Aveo beacons (Red Baron XP and Red Baron Mini) and they told me that shielded wire is not necessary.

unless you need to remove the wings on a regular basis, leave a "service loop" at the wing root ...
no chance of a connector failure or corrosion but if a future need for wing removal arises you can cut the service loop and add a connector at that time
i usually leave about a 4 inch diameter service loop
