I am (as usual) getting a bit ahead of myself and looking at the firewall-forward part of the manual. I’ve fettled the throttle box to fit in the tunnel spine, but looking at the next section on installing the choke cable, it looks as though the choke cables would foul the bottom of the throttle box. Is the idea that the choke control is installed slightly on the bend at the aft bottom end of the spine so that the cables pass under the throttle box? (Will they clear the retracted wheel?) Or do the choke cables pass one each side of the throttle box? It seems hard to check if there’s enough room without drilling the hole, and I don’t want to drill a hole and find that it’s in the wrong place!

Rowland, Next time you are passing, go and peer up the skirt of my plane! One peer is worth a thousand words. David, G-XSDJ

Hi Rowland
Yes you are right, the choke cable does pass very close to the bottom of the throttle box. I put a little dimple in mine for a bit more clearance. You just have to keep the bottom of the throttle box up as far as possible and the choke cable will go past. It doesn't really matter if it touches as long as the throttle box is not pushing it down too much. It'll work
Cheers
Gavin Lee
