I would not be to concerned with the lower fuel pressure. Temperatures are warner now than in December, so the fluid (fuel) might be thinner. Sounds like you have a MGL or Dynon . What I'd be looking at is the fuel flow to the engine. In December what was the fuel flow per hour. Should be close to 10.5 gallons on take off and climb out. What are your EGT's showing; should be in the 640C range then when you pull power back to the 3/4 position they should go up to 680C.

List
Today was the first flight on the Jabiru 3300 since my off field landing back in
December ( due to both ignition coils being wiped out ).
I noticed the fuel pressure had dropped from 1.8 ~ 2.1 to 1.4 plus or minus. I
have my low pressure alarm set at 1.8 so I kept getting an alarm unless I kept
the electric boost pump on.
The engine has not been run since the first of December 2014. Question: Should
I be concerned about the 1/2 lb. pressure drop or is it a case of TMI ( too much
information ).
I know of at least two guys that do not even have a fuel pressure gauge.
Anyone have any idea how long the engine driven fuel pump is good for. It has 236
hours on it but it is at least 8 years old.
By the way I noticed my maximum RPM on take off went from 2600 to 2720 just before
rotation speed. I attribute that to the new Rotek E-mag and the newer Honda
ignition coil.

Rick,
Gas does not THIN... Gas vaporizes.
Why are you saying the EGT increases as power is pulled back?

Barry,
Since the introduction of Jabiru’s proprietary carb needle in 2004 the carb functions to richen the mixture at full power (just like the conventional aircraft engines that operate at full rich for takeoff) resulting in lower EGT’s. When the throttle is reduced for cruise power the carb leans the mixture to a more economical fuel burn and not use a bit of extra fuel to help cool the engine (again – similar to the manual function in conventional aircraft engines where the pilot leans the mixture for a more economical cruise). Leaning as the throttle is reduced is a normal operation for the Bing carb with the Jabiru needle. Not so with the Bing std needle.

Subject: JabiruEngine-List: Fuel Pressure
