Since im not going off airport far it's hard to figure my consumption also I'm not quite ready to venture to far from the nest yet lol
But I'd sure like to hear some veterans of the sky give an idea on a calm none wind day
What distance does one get on a planned leg
Flying a firefly 5 gal a 447 (at) 5600 rpm to keep variances on the same page
Thank you much

My single carb, point ignition 447 burned 3.75 gph cruising at 5800 rpm on cross country flights, not buzzing around the local area.

In my 447 Firefly single carb points, I just did about 60 miles at about that RPM.
Filled up in Menomonie.

That is about what I am seeing with Serenity. Wind direction usually determines where I go. I fly generally into the wind for ½ hour, then turn and start heading back, meander around some to time my landing at about an hour on the tach give or take 10 minutes. Longest flight was 1.3 hours and burned 4.0 gallons.

447 electronic ignition
Single carb
3 blade 60” Warp Drive set to about 7.5° pitch
Cruise 5800 to 5900 but sometimes drop back to 5600 if the wind is to my back and the air is “right”. Produces 63 to 65 MPH on the ASI.
Fat tires and fat pilot make for a (ahem) heavy bird. Wink

Stuart.
do you mind telling me how much you weigh?or how much you and the airplane gross weight is? i am a big fella too and i haven't flown my firefly yet. it would be interesting to hear from some more heavy firefly owners to compare stall speeds, fuel mileage and other stuff.
