how do you guys keep oil from being drawn out through the air vent hole of the oil reservoir cap? i changed my reservoir from a generic one that leaks to a new rotax reservoir and cap but the oil still leaks through air vent hole in cap.

Are you are talking about the reservoir for the crankcase oil on the 532/582 2-stroke Rotax? Or are you talking about the reservoir that holds several quarts of oil for the oil injection system?
If you are referring to the small reservoir that holds crankcase oil to lubricate the rotary valve/water pump - if it is blowing oil, then you have a bad seal on the crank, and it is letting pressure into the middle of the engine and the pressure is blowing the oil out.

its the large reservoir for the oil injection system that is leaking. it appears the wind passing over air vent hole is creating a suction

On my 503, there is a milk white baffle inside of the black oil cap. I'm sure that mine is a stock Rotax oil tank. Yours may be missing part of the cap....

I get a light oily film on the reservoir from time to time but nothing close to a leak. I think that mine comes out from under the cap. I just wipe with a dry rag
when I see it on my pre-flight check.
