Would anyone be interested in an Allegro Fly-In? I was thinking at BQ1 for Pik-n-Pig (Carthage, NC). I know there's not too many Allegro owners which know about this forum. If there is interest, I can send out postcards about the Fly-In and to let everyone know about this forum. More communication between Allegro owners can only be a good thing.

I am a long way from North Carolina so my chance of getting to the fly in would be slim, but it might happen.

But, the idea of getting more Allegro owners on the forum is great! More conversation is usually helpful to us all.

Bill, where are you located? We may need to have East meeting and a West meeting. I am in North East Arizona.

Brian, I am in Colorado, near Colorado Springs. A western fly in would be cool also, but from the looks of the FAA Aircraft Registry it looks like the majority of Allegros are back east.

Yea, most Allegros are on on the east coast. Really, most are in North Carolina. I count 16 in NC. Regionally (NC, VA, SC), there are 22 Allegros registered. 38.6% of the US Allegros. So, I guess shoot for a date in a month or two? A Saturday, I would assume... Maybe a rain-check date for the following Saturday? Thoughts?

To keep things simple, I have set up "Allegroforum" dot com. Right now there is just a place holder. It can be used as an easy way to be redirected to this forum and a central static posting of any fly-ins. I've also setup info and rsvp emails.
For the west coast, there are not too many Allegros. But, in Page, AZ, there will be a light sport fly-in on Oct 11-15, 2017. I've never been. It's mostly Flight Design aircraft, but I'm told all it welcome.

I have been to the page Arizona flying in several times it's only about an hour and 45 minutes by air from me. Correct on mostly being flight design ct but all are welcome and it is a great time. Flying 300 feet above Lake Powell or over Monument Valley is awesome.

I've got the postcards ready to print, web page up, and a date set. If anything needs to be changed, the next 12 hours is when that needs to be done. If anyone discovers a concern, please let me know asap. I'm printing the postcards Sunday evening and mailing them on Monday.

- The Fly-in -

Enjoy some of the best Bar-B-Que in the south at the 2017 Allegro LSA Fly-In. Come fly in and meet other Allegro owners.
On the field is the Pik-N-Pig restaurant
Be prepared, they only accept cash, or NC check.

When: May 6, 2017 starting at 11:00 AM. (Bad weather contingent: May 13, 2017)

Where: BQ1 - Gilliam - McConnell Airfield, Carthage, NC
Any questions, or if you're planning on attending, please RSVP via e-mail or phone.
rsvp(at)AllegroForum.com | Phone: (919) 533-7622

On Allegroforum.com, there's more data available. It's a basic page - I'm not a web developer. The postcards will have that web address listed. There is a link on the web page which takes you to this forum. After we're past the fly-in, the web site will just become a direct forward to this forum. Using it is a lot easier to find and remember, then the full Matronics link.

I hope several of you can make it and I hope we get more Allegro owners posting here shortly!

Hi y'all!
I purchased N25017 in March and took possession/flew it to my home base at KCJR on 5 April 2017.
It would be great to be able to join you on 6 May if I can get the kitchen pass!
(And the weather cooperates.)

Hi.
Congratulations on your new Allegro! I do hope you can make it. Locally, the extended forecast is good for Saturday. Ya never know with weather predictions, but hopefully it will stay clear and nice on Saturday.

The weather is going to be worse then expected.
It looks like BQ1 will be fully in rain at 11 AM. My airport is already under rain and the ceiling isn't the best... We'll probably drive there just in case someone shows up.

Maybe try again next Saturday? If it works out - Great. If not, oh well.

Too bad I missed you on Saturday. We drove in just in case someone showed up. We met fellow Allegro owner Tim Johnson. (He doesn't use the internet). I'm going to try on the 13th. But it looks like the weather might be worse then last weekend. The weather really got a lot better last Saturday. I would have flown. If the 13th is no good, oh well. No need to force it. I'm getting ready to build a house at a local airpark. Maybe can to something there next year.

I understand Im eager to meet more Allegro owners. I'm based in Knightdale hopefully one of these weekends I will met more in gulian McConnell. I didn't met another gentleman with an Allegro by the name of Hugh he is out of Hickory North Carolina he was planning to fly his plane into the fly-in but had to have surgery and it still recovering. There is two fly- in coming up  I'm hoping to see some there one of them and Asheville North Carolina and the other one is at Triple Tree Aerodrome in South Carolina. Do you have a 80hp or 100hp?
