I bought a partially completed TR-1 kit recently and am at the point of building the wing. I've started the wing assembly fixture and am now at the point where I need the 'wing shape template' before I can begin construction of the wing.

I have looked through all the materials that I received with the kit but there is not a printed template in the works.'



I am willing to compensate anyone who has a template or a tracing that I can copy. Please reply to this email if you can help me.

Does anyone know if the wing cradle template for the TR1 is the same as the TR4?  I believe that I have the TR4 template but not sure if is the same.

The TR1 and the TR4 have vastly different wing chords and shape. 

At least I’m 99.9% sure. OC would have it if he were still around I’m sure.

Well. I feel much better about my predicament after getting three replies already. It is true that the TR-1 and the TR-4 are very different wings. I'm told that the TR-1 wing was also used on the Pulsar 150. Does anybody have any info on that application?  I'm a long way from being discouraged; somebody will come to my rescue...lol



Thinking out loud; is it likely that a particular wing design would be registered with somebody other than the designer/manufacturer? I'm still hopeful that someone will have a TR-1 template.

It is a straight wing. Someone could take the wing tip off their plane and

trace the wing outline on a piece of paper for you.

Tim has suggested that since the TR-1 wing is a straight wing someone could remove a wingtip and trace the planform for me. I do have the molded wing tips and I'm going to see how the traced shape looks for constructing a template.



Thank you Tm.  It might just work and it's at least worth a try. I can carefully see how accurate a shape I can get off of two wing tips where they attach to the end of the wings. That is still more accurate than a guess at the shape based on ribs and skins.

Both the TR1 and TR4 use the same airfoil, NACA 63(2)-215.

The TR1 has a cord of about 46" and the TR5 has a cord of about 56".



So you can use the template for the TR4 but scale it for the TR1.
