Hi All,
Does anyone know an alternative part number for the large O-Ring in the Classic brake caliper.
I found a post on here, from Jim and Heather, from 20/05/12 (link : http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?t=90304&highlight=brake+oring) which said that it appears to be a Cleveland 101-05200. This P/N maps on to MS28775-224 with an ID of 1-3/4" and thickness 1/8". Converting this to metric it's 44.45mm ID and 3.175 thickness. I found HUG-Technik 42704450300 which has 44.5mm ID and 3.00mm thickness - but this is grossly off. The ID is far far too big. Because I discovered this during the overhaul of the brake system, I am now without a working brake! However, I measured the piston, and see that I need an ID closer to 39mm.
The closest I can find from my O-Ring sources here, is Hug-Technik 42703900400 (link : https://www.hug-technik.com/shop/advanced_search_result.php?categories_id=0&keywords=42703900400&inc_subcat=1) with an ID of 39.00 mm but a thickness of 4.00mm... I did order it to see, but the piston will not go back inside the caliper housing.
Best

Karen at Europa does have them in stock as I have ordered some myself within the last month. Make sure you get the correct ones for the type of brake fluid that you use.
