Hello everyone, I need to do some work on my avionics and it has been some time since I have purchased wire, shielded wire, coax, pins, connectors and the like.Â
Could some share with me a couple of websites in the US that specialize in this area.
Thanks, Paul

Digikey.com
Everything…. But not aviation specific.
Of course Aircraftspruce.com for aviation specific.
Cheers,

Paul,
Normally I put in only Mil Spec wire with prop coating (Tufzel) and shielding where required. Best place to get it is Aircraft Spruce as Pete said.
Some still use Skycraft Surplus out of Orlando but the Mil/aircraft/spacecraft rated wire is getting pretty slim now as the manned space program has gone retail.
Components (Dsubs, connectors and the like, I get from Allied Electric or Digikey for the most part as I want my pins and sockets exactly the right size for the insulation as well as the wire gauge. Although Aircraft Spruce is stocking more and more.
Of course, crimpers are important unless using solder connectors. I’m not a fan of the circular type pins and sockets as the pin hangs only on the wire and not supported by the insulation as well.
For others interested in wiring, proper wiring techniques and stuff:
Techniques and sources on wire are in Aircraft Wiring 101 on line by Avotek
Aeroelectric Connection is a good source but the Allied and Digikey catalogues and videos on YouTube are handy on making D subs and Molex connectors.
Best Regards,
Bud Yerly

Paul,
As others have said, DigiKey, Mouser and Newark are full service electrical suppliers. That said, I often find it difficult to find what I want and in the quantities I want. I still use B&C Speciality (https://bandc.com/) like I did 20 years ago. Another I use today is SteinAir (https://www.steinair.com/) who does a lot of panels for experimental and sells components too. Waytek (https://www.waytekwire.com/) has a lot of components and is easy to use.
Aircraft Spruce sells some items but often isn't competitive or not up to current practices.
Hope this helps.
Jim

I have used Stein Air a couple of times during my build to get things such as connectors, shells, wires and some specialized electrical components. Their price is good. But Aircraft Spruce is still my main go to for parts because the shipping cost is a little clearer and they are close to my state (FL).
