Due to recent demands for the overhaul of the Chinese HS6A engines, SC Motorstar SA of Bacau Romania has agreed to overhaul the HS6A engines. They have overhauled the Russian AI-14RA engines in the past and had the government license to do them. The HS6A engine is based on the Russian/Polish AI-14RA engine and is quite similar. There here are some differences in the HS6A. They will manufacture the necessary parts to properly overhaul them. They will supply all the necessary new or refurbished parts for the proper overhaul. The engine will be run in and tested in their test cell. Each engine will be released with an Overhaul Statement in the logbook and a Certificate of Conformity. The recommended engine life until the next overhaul will be 600 hours.
Each engine will have a one year /100 hr warranty for materials and workmanship. There is a fixed price for the overhaul and there is no extra charge for any needed parts. The supplied core must be complete without major damage. Acessories such as air copressor, carburetor, fuel pump, oil pump, governor and magnetos will be overhauled as well. They do not overhaul generators. The turnaround time will be about 60 days from arrival at the Bacau Romania facility.
