Hi All, I have a need to remove the main gear of my TR-1. In searching the archives, I found one thread that suggests supporting the plane at the wing roots. I've also considered strapping the fuselage and lifting with a hoist, assuming I can rent one that has a long enough arm. Are there other options that I haven't considered?
Thanks much,
Jeff Budner

I did the following:
- traced the airfoil shape from the wing tip on a 2x8 board
- cut out the airfoil shape
- used that as a template to cut 3 more 2x8 boards for a total of 4 (2 under each wing)
- put foam pool noodles on the boards where they’ll be in contact with the bottom of the wings
- built vertical supports out of 2x4’s
- lifted the 2x8’s with an engine hoist and lift straps and attached to the vertical supports with long screws (see photo)
- repeat for other side

Thanks Doug, for the good idea and posting a pic, that makes for a good model to follow.
