Just thinking about how the flaps are attached to the MKIII along with the ailerons - seems to me it would not be too difficult to mod your current ailerons and add some MKIII style flaps.
You do already have VG's I assume?

Yes to the Vortex generators. I have been thinking about doing something like you suggest and may do that if I cannot find MK3 wings. I was also interested in the larger 6" spar in the mk3.....I am 6'4" 250lbs fand lyind my firestar 2 really close to gross with all the mods I have done. The idea of a little stronger wing (6" vs 5" spar) was going into the thought of a wing swap also. Thanks for the input. Chic

Unless you do something really rash, I wouldn't worry about that main spar too much:
The friend who used to have the hangar next to mine had a FSII with a 582 that was REALLY HEAVY and so was he.
He landed hard, broke the fitting that connects the axle to the landing gear leg, stuck the remaining bit of landing gear into the ground, turned 180 degrees and rolled it up. Broke his ankle.
Didn't hurt the main spar a bit.
And yes, we rebuilt it.
