Many thanks to all the Kitfoxers who answered my plea for help in fastening a threaded collar onto the poly tank on my model 4.
I,ve made many phone calls (either 652 or 786, I lost count) to "adhesive" websites, trying to find a product that would be compatable with polypropylene.
I finally got ahold of a guy with 3M who was familiar with with what I was trying to do. Gotchure problem solved, said he.
3M makes a product for specifically glueing polypropylene...........and the 3M product number is DP-8500 and is available in several sizes, the smallest of which, is $20. . According to 3M, it'll glue practically anything to poly and will stick to anything you try to mate with poly. 3M doesn't sell to individuals, but they sell to WW Granger, who may not sell to individuals, but they have many retailers who they do sell to. My local tool supply and several other indusatrial supply houses are suppliers from WW Granger. Granger part number for 3M #DP-8500 is #4yxo4.
Anyway, I ordered the 3M DP-8500 product and will report back, the results of a couple of my tests of glueing. Sure hope it works as well as 3M's glowing reports.

I spent a considerable amount of time trying to find this product in the granger catalog. A link would have been nice. The part number 4yxo4 refers to DP8005 not 8500. Is there a DP8500?

I had one one of the brass reducers in the poly tank that would seep fuel. Made an aluminum washer to fit the reducer and increase the bonding area. Roughed up the areas with #40 grit paper. Installed with West epoxy with floxed cotton. Does not leak and will not be coming loose anytime soon.
