Along the same lines, does anyone have the structural plans for the YAK-50. Particularly the wings. I am trying to route wiring in for strobe/nav lights.I also want to build a new set in the near future looking at altering the way the gear retract along with maybe speed brakes. Are they out there anywhere?

Why not order a set of 52 TD wings and adapt them to the 50?

Doc,
I think I can get them out of Russia, but they will not be cheap. The plans for the Yak 18 were 5K.
If you serious let me know off line.

Always Yakin,

Speed brakes....it alread has them....prop full forward and aft throttle! You can always put a foot load of rudder in and skid her!

I think something I sent you had some pretty good drawings of the wing. I was under the impression the wings had the same airfoil as the -52. I think the airplane would look pretty cool with the FW-190 style gear but I would not be willing to spend the HUGE scratch to modify it. Now, find a new place for that God awful oil cooler sticky out and sign me on.

That throttle full aft and prop full coarse pitch over speeds the prop. My
engine tends to not like that much. True the slip works real well. It would
be nice to bring her down at a constant rate like the 52 at 400mmHg and 70%
with 45 deg of flaps though.
I know, I flew 52's to long before stepping to the single seater!

Are you sure? Regardless, what does that have to do with it? You'd be replacing the entire airfoil.

Only want the speed brakes to control saddling up for multiple "Guns Passes". That way we can have good stable video of tracking the "tracking kills" for the awards banquet at Red Air. :>))
