A friend sent me an email labeled Oregon scenes taken from an ultralight 

that I would like to share with you, but the email has many pictures in it 

and is 2213 KB and remembering the last stink that I raised with a picture 

much smaller I have decided that I will only send it to those who would like 

to see it. It captures many of the attractions of Oregon, not all of course, 

but many of them. Send me an email and I will forward it to you.

Whoever took those pix has a very good eye! Good pix like thjs don't  

just happen  -- he/she waited for the good light, and chose a good  

angle, good altitude, etc.

Please send me a copy of the photo... I have always enjoyed your submissions in the past.



IMHO your self censorship is somewhat misplaced... Those that complain about photos on the list are failing to use the technology properly.



My internet connection is tenuous... When comes in at high speeds, I am able to view the list in the "BBS Forum Interface" mode.  Here I can get a pretty blue border, icons for new messages and attachments, avatar photos, thumbnails of the photos, and all the messages for a thread on a single page...



Often my connection slows to sub-modem speeds... At those times (like now... I will be unable to post this message until it speeds a bit) I view the daily summery of the list in my eMail. In this mode all the photos are given as links. If I elect to view a photo I can click it. This isn't as pretty or convenient as the "BBS Forum Interface", but all the data is accessible and doesn't take hours to download.



There are many reasons for a slow speed connection (in my case, location, location, location). But those with slow speed connections, should view the list in a manner consistent with the technology they are able access. To ask the rest of the members of the list to bump along at 56k and not to share photos is unfair. Again, IMHO.

Thanks for posting the pictures on your web site for the dial-up users 

of the list like me!   I too enjoy looking at all the pictures that 

listers post.  Too bad more can't size them for easy transmission and 

viewing.  The computer screen can only show so many pixels anyway.
