Can someone shoot me a/ some photos of how they put the plastic brake lines through the wing spar cut out/channel with duel sticks fitted??

There is not much room and I was thinking of running them below the rudder cables through the plastic.

or any other Ideas.. I don't want to go outside the fuse and under the spar that way..

chris..

Hi Chris,

I guess you won't like my approach. I ran the brake lines (nylon tubes)
out the bottom skin up by the pedals and under the cabin all the way to
the gear spring. It may not sound very elegant, but it seems to work
just fine.

Chris,
I know that there is not much room, but the lines will fit. I used "Adel" type clamps holding ribbed plastic split automotive wire conduit in which the lines were passed through. The clamps were installed both sides of the spar to prevent any interference with the cables. I also have dual sticks.

Chris,

Sorry, I don't have any good photos of it, but I did just what you are thinking about. I ran the brake lines through the nylon plates that cover the hole in the spar, just about an inch below the rudder cables. Worked fine.

Hi Chris,

I ran my brake lines under the cabin. Probably similar to what Paul did.
526 hours with no problems.

Chris

I just did it and came in just behind the main gear, under the seat and thru the large hole in the center spar structure.
You have to install u-shaped brackets on the floor and tie the other end to the fuel sediment bowl or add another u-bracket
at that point to keep the lines at the lowest position to avoid the rest of the dual stick mechanisms.

Lots of luck.

JES

I ran mine through the rudder cable tunnel and out behind the main gear spring.

I took mine straight down thru the floor, and down the middle channel, and
along the underside of the undercarriage.
Tapped into the undercarriage, and made small alluminium saddles to hold the
pipes in place.

Has worked fine for 300hrs

Jonathan

Hi Chris,

I know this is not what you were wanting, because I ran them outside the fuselage, but I wanted you to see my photos of the installation.

I store all my construction photos at this site:

http://cid-2c08001814b26710.photos.live.com/browse.aspx/Ron%5E4s%20601XL

The brake line installation photos are numbers 278 thru 287.

Hope this helps.

I'm not flying yet, so I can't give you an "operational report". I'm still working on the mandatory updates. The fuselage is done, and I now have the first wing torn apart.
